The website and app provides easy, free access to information about crime activity, local events and happenings, local contractor recommendations, items to purchase or giveaway, a campaign for lost or unwanted pets or debate a controversial new development.
NextDoor differs from other social medias like Facebook and LinkedIn because people are brought together by their defined physical location versus shared interests, time of life, professional networks and education. The site uses verification methods for physical address like a billing address, postcard mailer or having a current user verify that a new member lives at the location.
